Vent = Ventrilo
It allows you to talk to people over your ip.

It's mainly used in elite missions and PvP.

On a not so entirely relevant note; when I first tried to use vent I used the headset that came with the Prophecies collector's edition. The headset sounded awful and now I just you my ps2 headset and it works great. But I think that may actually be because the mic port on my sound card is like haunted and doesn't work good; but my ps2 mic is usb so it works fine. Also, in my experience ts has a lot better sound quality over vent.

Heh, I was about to say the opposite! I've used both and now my guild are firmly in the venty bandcamp as we've found the sound quality to be much higher than TS. At least, no-one sounds like they're talking through several layers of jumpers any more anyways...

maybe the sound quality depends on how whoever is hosting the server set it up
